The Slavic term стожер (found mainly in South Slavic) means a pillar to which animals are tied up. Such pillars were used as pivotal axes in archaic threshers (as shown in this video - Threshing with cattle). For this reason, I gave it as a descendant of pIE *stegʷʰ- even though its meaning is not directly related to encircling or circumventing. 5.150.99.188 13:42, 7 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
