Evidence of Sanskrit puvas-

[edit]

@CodeCat, I'm having trouble finding evidence of Sanskrit puvas-. Where did you find this form? —JohnC5 16:01, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

In either Kroonen or De Vaan, I don't remember which. —CodeCat 16:36, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

@CodeCat: There does seem to be some evidence of ablaut. Thoughts? Could all the Balto-Slavic forms be secondary? —JohnC5 22:48, 20 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Quite possible. *bʰuH- generally doesn't ablaut either, but Old English bēon has an e-grade. —CodeCat 22:51, 20 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
