@CodeCat: There does seem to be some evidence of ablaut. Thoughts? Could all the Balto-Slavic forms be secondary? —JohnC5 22:48, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Quite possible. *bʰuH- generally doesn't ablaut either, but Old English bēon has an e-grade. —CodeCat 22:51, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
