Can also Ossetic фыс (fys) be a descendant? Bogorm 08:06, 16 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I recently looked it up in Abaev's dictionary and it turned out to be cognate with Latin pecus and Gothic 𐍆𐌰𐌹𐌷𐌿 (faihu), therefore I added it in the corresponding PIE appendix. Bogorm 18:56, 11 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Alt forms

[edit]

Wikipedia (w:Schleicher's fable) cites texts with further alt forms: h₂óu̯is, ʕʷeuis. As I haven't checked the source, I just mention it here. -84.161.33.192 20:22, 14 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

The latter would be equivalent to *h₃ewis in our notation, so it is mentioned on the page. It might be neat to display alternative notations, generated by a module, though. — Eru·tuon 21:27, 14 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
