Etymology of Old Norse kæsir

[edit]

The etymology of this Old Norse word for rennet seems to be debated. I'd like to see if anyone is willing to provide arguments for and against this word being borrowed from caseus. I'm limited in my ability to read other North Germanic languages, so I'd like some help finding Etymological dictionaries for Danish and Norwegian to see if there are any other possible etymologies of the Old Norse word.Rigognos Molinarios (talk) 03:23, 14 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
