@Leasnam Any particular reason why you reconstructed this as class 3? All the descendants appear to be class 2. —CodeCat 00:43, 27 March 2016 (UTC)
- I wasn't sure, but I prob thought since OE had a byform with umlaut (*hwēstan), and since the verb was intransitive, that it might have been class 3. I'll change it Leasnam (talk) 12:41, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
- ***I remember now why***--(btw, I've move the page, and changed the class in the Conjugation); but the reason I made it Class 3-a was because the OE verb was not class 2, but rather had a preterit in -te...this, coupled with the mutated Middle English form (whesten), appeared like a re-analysed verb. But OHG and ON were clearly class 2, which I just assumed had also been re-analysed Leasnam (talk) 12:49, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
