Amisī, derivation from Celtic.

[edit]

May I suggest a Celtic etymology for *Amisī. The Proto-Celtic wiktionary has an entry for *ameti, "to wash" < PIE *h₂em(H)- (“to pour”).

Credit here to: Matasović, Ranko (2009) “*am-o-”.
