"borrowed into"
[edit]@AleksiB 1945, the entry says "Possibly borrowed into Sanskrit". I interpret this as meaning Sanskrit borrowed from Dravidian. However, you changed the categorization so that Dravidian borrowed from Sanskrit. Which direction is right? 2001:18B0:CFFF:100:8801:DE5D:AB52:FF7B 14:20, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
- @2001:18B0:CFFF:100:8801:DE5D:AB52:FF7B, I misread it before but after seeing the old Armenian word կալ (kal) it does seem like a loan into Proto Dravidian and ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *gʷeh₂- (“to go step”) or from *gʷaktlo- (“something for beating”) but it says its origin is uncertain in that page AleksiB 1945 (talk) 14:29, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
