Present in Gaulish
[edit]Under Etymology, I changed “Attested only in the insular Celtic languages” to “Attested only in the Celtic languages” because Delamarre has lucot- ‘souris’ in Dictionaire de la Langue Gauloise.
Delamarre says, “Le celtique lucot- [...] doit indiquer la couleur grise de l’animal : gall. llwg ‘pale’, racine *leuk-” - which would mean that the word was in fact Indo-European. (However I could not find llwg ‘pale’ in the Welsh dictionary.) --Caoimhin (talk) 18:17, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
