[edit]Likely from Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (kwlkwm /kurkum/). Compare the other borrowings of Old Armenian քրքում (kʻrkʻum) and Old Georgian ქურქუმაჲ (kurkumay). Only attested in the suffixed form kurkamäṣṣe.
