Proto-West Germanic
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From *wōkr (“yield, usury”) + *-ōn. It's uncertain if the Old Norse descendants are borrowed or inherited, in the latter case this verb may go back to Proto-Germanic *wōkrōną.
Verb
[edit]*wōkkrōn
- to commit usury
- to proliferate
- to grow wildly (of plants)
