Reconstruction:Proto-West Germanic/prakkōn
Appearance
Proto-West Germanic
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Unclear, there are no known cognates outside Germanic. Kroonen reconstructs Proto-Germanic *prakkōną an iterative verb from Proto-Indo-European *brogʰ-néh₂-ti, and suggests a connection with *prangan (“to press”).[1]
