[edit]From Proto-Turkic *uŕa- (“to be taller; to be longer”) + *-k.
Akin to Proto-Turkic *uŕïn (“long”), Proto-Mongolic *ur-tu (“long”). Perhaps related to Proto-Koreanic *ora- (“late, long ago”). (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
