Etymology

Akin to Proto-Finnic *uksi (door), possibly borrowed from it; Udmurt ӧс (ös, door), Komi-Permyak ӧдзӧс (ödźös, door) and Komi-Zyrian ыбӧс (ybös, door) may also be related in some fashion, although no Uralic root can be set up.
