[edit]From Proto-Indo-Iranian *ráwgʰnas, perhaps from Proto-Indo-European *réwgʰ-no-s (“cream”), from *rewgʰ- + *-nos, from *rew- (“to tear, dig, churn”).[1] Possible cognate with Proto-Germanic *raumaz.
