[edit]From Proto-Indo-European *kóh₂-mo-s, from *keh₂- (“to fly, flow, run”) + *-mō (agentive nominal suffix) + *-s (suffix deriving masculine acrostatic root nouns with lengthened o-grade nominative singular from roots).
