[edit]From Proto-Indo-European *h₃bʰrúHs (“eyebrow, rim, edge”). Cognate with Sanskrit भ्रू (bhrū́, “eyebrow”),[1] Lithuanian brùvē (“brow”), Old Irish brū (“edge, shore”), Russian бровь (brovʹ, “eyebrow”).
