Etymology

From Proto-Finno-Permic *wakštɜra, possibly a substrate word (from the Pre-West Uralic agricultural substrate). Akin to Erzya укштор (ukštor), Moksha уштор (uštor), and Eastern Mari ваштар (vaštar).
