According to Aikio (2024), from Proto-Finno-Permic [Term?] (whence also derived Erzya [script needed] (kavoŕks), Moksha [script needed] (kavǝŕks), [script needed] (kavǝrks, lump, clod (of earth, etc.))).[1]
