Related to Ancient Greek στόμᾰ (stóma, mouth), Avestan 𐬯𐬙𐬀𐬨𐬀𐬥 (staman, mouth (of a dog)),[1] Hittite [script needed] (ištāman-, ear) and Proto-Germanic *stebnō (voice, sound)[2]
