[edit]Related to Ancient Greek στόμᾰ (stóma, “mouth”), Avestan 𐬯𐬙𐬀𐬨𐬀𐬥 (staman, “mouth (of a dog)”),[1] Hittite [script needed] (ištāman-, “ear”) and Proto-Germanic *stebnō (“voice, sound”)[2]
