[edit]Etymology
[edit]From *dī- (privative prefix) + *ākus (“swift, speedy”) (whence also Welsh awg and Latin Ācus, a rendering of a Gaulish name), ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *HéHḱus (“swift, quick”).
