Reconstruction:Proto-Austroasiatic/khe(ː)ʔ
Appearance
Proto-Austroasiatic
[edit]Etymology
[edit]- Proto-Austroasiatic: *khe(ː)ʔ (Sidwell, 2024, #AA187)
- Proto-Mon-Khmer: *khəjʔ (Shorto, 2006, #1542)
In spite of the fact that Shorto (2006) reconstructed this root with *-h-, it is possible that Katuic *-s- and Aslian *-c- are conservative, and other branches underwent debuccalization.
