[edit]From Proto-Indo-European *h₁ludʰét (“to arrive”); related to ἐλεύσομαι (eleúsomai).[1]
Usage notes
[edit]Merged with ἔρχομαι (érkhomai, “I go”) to give its aorist stem. The aorist imperative still has the connotation "come here!," while the present imperative still has the connotation "go away!."
