Particularly: “From Venetan [Term?]? Cf. Venetan vegro and the related terms below, especially Vegra. Given Italian possessione f, Italian might have borrowed the Venetan adjective to modify its noun; alternatively, Venetan might have borrowed the Italian noun, or its cognate may be identical. Consider the village’s location in the far northeast of Emilia-Romagna, very near the border with the Rovigo Province of the Veneto Region.”
