Usage notes

[edit]

Plympton St Mary was originally a civil parish in Devon, which was renamed Sparkwell in 1966. The current ward was presumably separated from the current parish of Sparkwell with the creation of Plymouth and South Hams districts in 1974; the Plymouth ward boundary and Sparkwell (in South Hams) parish boundary now adjoin each other.
