[edit]From German Palluch, a Germanized form of Polish Paluch, Slovak Palúch, Slovak Paľuch, Slovak Paľúch, or Ukrainian Палюх (Paljux). paluch means "big toe" in Polish, while the Slovakian form comes from Pavol (“Paul”).
