[edit]- (Noord-Brabant) Attested as Haltersen molen in 1787. Derived from oud (“old”) and molen (“windmill”). Named after a windmill built in 1617. So named to distinguish the settlement from Nieuwe Molen.
- (Overijssel) Attested as Oude Molen in 1832. Derived from oud (“old”) and molen (“windmill”). Named after a nearby windmill. See also Dutch Low Saxon Olde Meule.
- (Zeeland) Attested as Oudemolen in 1899. Derived from oud (“old”) and molen (“windmill”). Named after a former windmill demolished in 1921. So named to distinguish the settlement from Nieuwe Molen.
