Oosman

  1. Obsolete form of Osman or Usman.
    • 1846 February, James Airey, “The Cabool Captives”, in Colburn's United Service Magazine., Pt. I, No. 207, p. 268:
Shoojah Adowlah remained with him, brooding over his supposed insults, and probably, though a Mussulman, drinking a good deal of wine, until about 2 o'clock a.m.; when, at Oosman's instigation, he proceeded, with a few followers, to waylay the King on the road from the Bala Hissar to the camp at Seah Sung.
