NETosis (countable and uncountable, plural NEToses)

  1. (biology) A death process for neutrophil cells, whereby the neutrophils expel their chromatin to form a neutrophil extracellular trap (NET), a net-like structure to capture invader chemicals and bodies, and cause clotting to block off a region of the body.
