[edit]Named by Leigh Van Valen by blending the following elements: Sindarin mîr (“jewel”), Matuta (a Roman goddess), a claimed Latin word *mius ("imitator"), Latin tuta (“safe”), and Mîm (a dwarf in the Silmarillion).
