Etymology
[edit]Together with Middle Welsh Llundein cannot be directly from Latin Londinium, which would yield *Lynden via i-mutation. But both may continue Vulgar Latin *Lundeinju (Late British Latin) if the medial -i- of the original word was short.[1]
