[edit]From the Hanyu Pinyin romanization of the Mandarin 龍港 / 龙港 (Lónggǎng, “Dragon Port”).
- Of the city in Zhejiang: a blend of its former name Longjiang Port Area (龍江港區 / 龙江港区 (Lóngjiāng gǎngqū)) adopted upon its elevation to town status in 1983. The name Longjiang itself derived from the "Qinglong River" (青龍江 / 青龙江 (qīnglóng jiāng)), used locally for the lower Ao (鰲江 / 鳌江 (áo jiāng)).
