[edit]Borrowed from Ottoman Turkish لازستان, itself borrowed from Classical Persian لازستان (lāzistān, “Lazica; Lazia”).

- (historical) The sanjak comprising the Laz or Lazuri-speaking population on the southeastern shore of the Black Sea.
- A historical and cultural region of the southwestern Caucasus and northeastern Anatolia, traditionally inhabited by the Laz people, also called Lazona.
