Koate
Appearance
Saterland Frisian
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Uncertain. Possibly from Old Frisian *kāte (attested in Old Frisian kathentol), perhaps from Proto-West Germanic *kautā, from Proto-Germanic *kautǭ, related to Proto-Germanic *kutą (“cot, shed”). Alternatively, possibly from Middle Low German kâte. It's uncertain whether Low German loaned or borrowed the term.
Noun
[edit]Koate f (plural Koaten)
