- A sub-Saharan language belonging to the Benue-Congo branch of the Niger-Congo family, which is closely related to Yoruba.
- (historical) A precolonial West African state, founded by the Igala people and located at the eastern region of the confluence of River Niger and River Benue in the Middle Belt or North-central of Nigeria.
