Humppi +‎ -la. Theories include derivation from an Old Swedish name Humpe, from vernacular forms of the Germanic name evident in German Humbert, from dialectal humppa (crazy, senile) (of sound-symbolic origin[1]) or from dialectal humppi (small patch of arable land).[2]
