     Towards the end of the decade a movement was set on foot to construct a railway from Hoiping (開平) to Yeungkong (陽江), and a prospectus, under the auspices of the promoters, the mercantile Ning-Yeung Railway Company (甯陽鐵路公司) has been issued with a view to collecting the necessary capital.
