From Old Meitei, "Hensunaha", literally meaning "handsome and young". Morphologically, "hen" meaning "good looking" or "extraordinary" (in something), "su" meaning "also", and "naha" meaning "young". Later, "Hensunaha" evolved into its modern Meitei descendant word "Henjunaha".
