[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish گلبهار (gül-bahar),[1] from Persian گل (gol) and بهار (bahâr), equivalent to gül (“rose”) + bahar (“spring”). Cognates with Azerbaijani Gülbahar, Uyghur گۈلباھار (gülbahar), Uzbek Gulbahor.
