Usage notes

The sound r in the Trøndelag dialects turns into sj preceding the plosives k, t, p, akin to the sound it gets in the combination rs. The combination rk thus merges with rsk, and these spellings may be used interchangeably, for instance in the misspelling kark for karsk, and the dialectal pronunciation kjersk of kjerk (“church”).
