Etymology

Donald Duck +‎ -isme, first part from English Donald Duck. Last part from French -isme (-ism), from Latin -isma, -ismus (-ism), from Ancient Greek -ισμός (-ismós, forms abstract nouns), from the suffix -μός (-mós, forms abstract nouns), from Proto-Indo-European *-mos or *-mós (creates action/result nouns from verb stems).

First used in writing by Norwegian author Jon Gisle in his book Donaldismen ("The Donaldism") (1973).
