[edit]Etymology
[edit]Borrowed from English cranberry, itself from Middle Low German. The Low German word and its standard German equivalent Kranbeere originally refer to a related plant, the cowberry, but are now sometimes used for “cranberry”. The cranberry is non-native to Central Europe.
