Usage notes

[edit]

Sometimes pronounced as Cîvan by Kurds from Northern Kurdistan, because the word ciwan (young) doesn't exist in most regions there. It's spread as a name caused it to be written in the Turkish alphabet as Civan, and Northerners who were unfamiliar with the word started to pronounce it as Cîvan.
