- Senkaku-gunto (sānʹkäko͝o-go͞ontō), small, uninhabited island group (□ 8) of Sakishima Isls., in the Ryukyus, in East China Sea, 90 mi. NNW of Ishigaki; comprises 5 coral isls. and scattered islets. Uotsuri-shima (2.5 mi. long, 1 mi. wide) is largest isl. Generally low. Rattan-palm and banyan trees. Visited by inhabitants of Ishigaki-shima.
