The part I'm ambiguous about is whether 'Marigon' was what was shattered as being the vessel for the Elden Ring or if it was an actual physical thing apart from them.
You have to take out Malekith to unseal destined death, thereby letting you actually kill Marigon + the eldritch [Elden Beast] and clear the way to becoming elden lord.
The real weirdest part of that is how it was apparently "a secret," yet Marigon still allowed the artist to not only complete the statue, but then put it on display.
She [Marika] commits the shattering in rebellion. Radagon however, leel[sic] hound that he is, is still blindly loyal and tries (and fails) to repair it. And Marigon is punished as a result.
