The way I play my Inky, she's moderately faithful, so Mother Giselle, for example, would make for a great confidante, as would Leliana or even, Maker help me, someone like Sera, just for the perspective.
Of my 9 Inkies, the ones I felt to be the strongest (character-wise) were my atheist Trevelyan Reaver, my devout Andrastian Trevelyan mage, and my rebellious and fiercely elfy Lavellan who romanced Solas.
My Inky was a very faithful Andrastian, like his family, and he believed he was the Herald of Andraste…kind of.

I like to arrange my romances according to backstory, interesting dialogue, and trying to ensure my Inky gets to be "close" to their LI when they go out questing with their party (mages paired with archers, warriors paired with dual-wielding rogues/Knight Enchanters, etc.).
