2. CECHENODES, new genus // Figure 138 // Front wing 5. 7 to 6. 7 mm. long. Body moderately slender. Apex of clypeus almost evenly convex but with a median point. Genal carina joining base of mandible. Apex of mandible twisted about 15°, its lower tooth about 0. 6 as long as upper tooth. Epomia long and strong, almost straight. Most of spiracular sclerite covered by hind corner of pronotum. Sternaulus lacking. Apex of propodeum produced into a neck that is about 4 times as long as it is wide at narrowest place. Middle tibia with 2 spurs. Tarsal claws closely pectinate on their basal 0. 7±. Venation as figured. Spiracle of first tergite about as far from apex of tergite as the tergite is wide. Ovipositor about 1. 1 as long as hind tibia. // Genotype: Cechenodes oweni, new species. // The generic name is from [κεχηνώδης] (making a yawn), referring to the wide base of the third cubital cell. A single species, from Sierra Leone, is known. It is described below.
