[edit]From Cisleithan + -ia, referring to the parts of Austria-Hungary ruled by Austrian government in Vienna, which were mostly located before the river Leitha (from the Viennese perspective), as opposed to Transleithania, Hungarian parts of the empire, mostly located behind the river Leitha.
