From ciolac, from Ottoman Turkish چولاق (çolak, one-armed, one-handed). Also used as a surname in Turkish Çolak, Armenian Չոլաքյան (Čʻolakʻyan, Cholakyan), Greek Τσολάκης (Tsolákis).
