Cinerama (uncountable)

  1. A wide-screen movie filming and projection system, briefly in vogue during the 1950s, involving three synchronised standard-format films projected onto a wide, curved screen, providing a "wraparound" experience for cinemagoers.
  2. A later system in which a single film was projected onto the curved screen, achieved by means of camera and/or projector lens adaptations.
