- The duration from egg to adult in the summer generation of Chilo and Tryporyza does not differ markedly from areas with different climates, and the larvae grown in winter undergo hibernation. The larvae hibernate even in subtropical areas such as Chiai in Formosa (T’ao and T’ang, 1960).
